Busy December

Sorry its been so long since I posted any pictures. Between Christmas parties, Christmas shopping, getting Christmas cards ready and sick kids, its been a busy December. Hayden and Hudson had a flu virus a couple of weeks ago. Hayden was throwing up, Hudson had it coming out the other end. It has never stopped so we are currently waiting on lab results of his stools to see if he has something else. We hope for good results. Otherwise Hudson is doing great, eating well and sleeping awesome. He will not sleep until 7 or 8 if my work allows him to, so over Christmas break if I can get Hayden to sleep a little later, I may actually get to sleep past 5:00. Enjoy the pictures below. Many of them were taken to use in a photo book I created for mom, my Mother-in-law and myself. It is a goal of mine to do one every year to keep a running record of the boys as they grow since I am not a scrap booker. Copy and paste the link below into your adress bar and you should be able to view the photo book. I just got the hard copies in the mail yesterday and they are really neat!!

These first few photos are from a party we had at our house with my friends Steph and Erica. Their kids, Sam ELi, Claire, Amelia and Benton all had fun playing with our boys.

Here is a photo I took after Hayden asked if I could make his drum hang from his neck with bread twisty ties. He is such a hoot. We ended up using an old rope belt of mine that I broke in the process of getting it to hang from the drum.

Here Hayden and Hudson are at Bass Pro riding in the back of a 4 wheeler.

Steve and I all dressed up before a progressive dinner with 18 couples from our church. It was a fun night!

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was very nice with Travis and the family coming over Wednesday night and staying until Sunday morning. The only bummer was that Steve caught what Hayden and Hudson had had the week prior and he was on the couch for 2 days. I felt bad for him ,but told him to look on the birght side, he did not eat as many calories as all of us. Knock on wood, Hudson is over the croup and strep throat and he got a great report at his 2 week post op visit from his ENT concerning his tubes.

This year Gage and Stephanie decided to join me in the Turkey Trot. It was a balmy 34 degrees at race time. I finsihed before the sleet and rain, but Gage and Steph ran the last mile in the wintery mix. Thank goodness, Travis had the car warm and waiting for us.

THe Cheek/Helling cousins.

Hudson showing who is #1. Not sure how I captured this photo, but it looks good anyway.

Hudson Turns 10 months

This weekend Hudson turned 10 months old. He is sucha big boy. He made it through his ear tube surgery on Monday just fine. By afternoon you would not have even known he had had it done. Hayden and Hudson are already gearing up for Christmas. This weekend we put up our basement tree as well as a very small tree in Hayden's room and in their bathroom. Next weekend we will do the main tree upstairs. This weekend I have been under the weather. I have a VERY aching mouth. I have had a tooth bothering me for some time and I guess now it is infected. I will now need a root canal and a crown. The antibiotic they have me on is not working and I have been miserable for 3 days. Hopefully the can move my surgery up when I call them on Monday. Right now I am not scheduled until Dec. 21.

Here is Hayden totally cheesing it up.

Hudson is still pulling up and cruising, but he just won't let go and take off on his own.

Its difficult to get 12 kids smiling normally.

Here Hayden was at a store called Goldminds. We are friends with the owners and this weekend they had an open house where you could try out all their toys and write a letter to Santa. Of course Hayden gravitated towards any and all construction stuff.

Halloween

It has been an interesting weekend for Halloween. It has been unseasonably warm and Hudson was extremely sick yesterday. We were very close to taking him to the ER. He had diarrhea and was running a fever of 104.4. That is the highest either of my children have ever had. Luckily Mortin brought it down by evening. He was much better today. Hayden has been able to wear his costume 4 times this Halloween. We went to Trunk or Treat at our church. He got to wear it to school on Friday, and we went to our zoo's "Spooktacular" earlier this week. Tonight Hayden filled his whole bucket of candy and was on cloud nine

There are new houses going up in our neighborhood a couple of streets away, so at night when the workers are gone, Hayden and I head over and he gets on all their construction things. I am sure they would appreciate it!

Here is Hayden the Buccaneer before we headed to trunk or treat at church.

Here Hayden and I are at the Spooktacular at the Zoo. He loved the train. We went with our friends Kim and Luke.

Indian Summer in October???

The last few weekends have been so beautiful here. Its been nice to be able to have the kids outside and not be too hot or too cold. I hope it sticks around for Halloween. We have two birthday parties next weekend along with a fall festival at church. All this will be done without Steve. He is pumped to be heading to the MU/OU game in Columbia with a buddy.

Fall at Rutledge Wilson

Hayden, Hudson and I headed out to Rutledge Wilson Farm today with Luke and Kim. We all had a blast going on hayrides, picking out pumpkins, riding on mini tractors, and playing on the playgroud. The fall weather has been so beautiful this year. Hudson is finally feeling better and I think the ear infections are finally gone, although my doctor has gone ahead and referred us to the ENT. We see Dr. Snow in early Nov. to see if Hudson needs tubes.
